Cape Cod Commission

The regional land-use planning and regulatory agency created in 1990 to serve the citizens and 15 towns of Barnstable County, Massachusetts.

The Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL)

The oldest private marine laboratory in the country, the MBL is an international center for research, education, and training in biology. The MBL provides both the resource support and the intellectual environment that enables many scientists to do their best work.

The Regional Technology Development Corporation (RTDC)

Located in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, the RTDC is a not-for-profit “virtual incubator” with the mission to facilitate technology transfer and technology commercialization from affiliated local research institutions, including the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) and the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL).

The RTDC’s primary technology focus areas include marine sciences, environmental science, life sciences, alternative energy, and aquaculture.

The RTDC is funded in part by the John Adams Innovation Institute of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative.

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI)

WHOI is a private, independent, not-for-profit corporation dedicated to research and higher education at the frontiers of ocean science. Its mission is to advance understanding of the ocean and its interaction with the Earth system, and to communicate this understanding for the benefit of society.
